Which Northern Rhone Cru is located on the Eastern side of the Rhone River?

Hermitage is the Northern Rhône Cru located on the eastern side of the Rhône River. It is renowned for producing some of the most prestigious red wines, primarily from the Syrah grape, as well as white wines made from Marsanne and Roussanne. The unique terroir of Hermitage, which includes steep slopes with distinct granite soils, contributes to the complexity and quality of its wines.

The other options represent notable appellations in the Northern Rhône but are located in different areas or have their unique characteristics. Côte Rôtie, for example, is situated just to the north of Hermitage and straddles both sides of the river but is primarily known for its hillside vineyards which are also known for high-quality Syrah. Condrieu is well-known for its Viognier-based white wines and is also along the river, but situated more to the north, which separates it geographically from Hermitage. Saint-Joseph spans both banks of the river but primarily runs along the western side. Each of these regions has its distinct aspects, but Hermitage clearly stands out as the Cru located on the eastern bank of the Rhône River.
